Dear Editor:
Whatever happened to the zoning control ordinance? It seems ages ago that the residents of the county expressed their views at hearings, and we know that the Zoning committee chaired by Gen. Daniel Noce did a magnificent job of drafting and redrafting the proposal. But since then we have heard very little about it, and we hope that it is not dying for want of air and sunshine. If the bill is now in the hands of the County Board of Supervisors, we urge the board to act swiftly to keep the county beautiful before it is too late. We can understand the concern of those who argued that zoning control would interfere with our freedoms. We can understand their feelings but we believe they are in error. We must all give up a little bit of freedom when it is for the common good. We are not free to dodge income taxes. We are not free to punch someone else on the nose because it isn’t a perfect profile. We are not free to walk in the middle of the highway as our “right”. And we must not be “free” to
