well. The spring water is used as long as it is plentiful and when necessary the supply is obtained from the well. The spring is dry and has been since about May, so in the past six months water has been used from the well. On two different occasions recently the water has become muddy with the low water level. Residents are alerted to these facts so they will realize that water must be used with extreme caution for only necessary purposes. The well was examined two years ago by State authorities when water shortages first became prominent, and they predicted that if the supply failed it would occur in the late fall or dead of winter.

Christmas Luncheon

The annual Christmas luncheon of the Rappahannock Garden Club will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 11 at Cab Inn, Sperryville. All club members are invited to bring a friend, but reservations for everyone must be made in advance by calling Mrs. Marie Hite, 987-3641. The luncheon is $1.60 per person. Gifts will be exchanged and the wrappings judged. The Juncheon will take the place of the December meeting.
