VICTORY was the cry last Wednesday night when the Rappahannock Panthers won the first game of the season. We won over the Madison “Mountaineers" with a score of 54-53. Friday night however Monteuipeo’s “Maroons" edged over the Panthers with a four point lead 40-36. High scorer for both games was Ronnie Pullen. The Junior Class is now selling candy to raise money to finance the Junior-Senior Prom. The candy is $1 per box and comes in chocolate covered mints and marshallows.
Several more seniors have received letters of acceptance to various colleges Eddie Edmond8, Chowan College; Leslie Hayes and Martha Shill ingburg, Radford College. The senior class will sponsor a Christmas dance, Wednesday December 22. The only restriction on the dance is that students only may attend. This means that if a student within the school invited an “outsider" the outsider must be a student in another high school, college, etc. Friday, December 17, the seniors will sponsor a Sock Hop after the game that night from 9:30 - 11:00 p. m.
