Mr. Skeens Named
Resident Engineer
James K. Skeens of Roanoke, has been appointed to the position of Resident Engineer for the Warrenton office of the Department of Highways which serves the county of Rappahannock. He assumed his duties in Warrenton the first of November. Mr. Skeens, 34, is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute receiving his degree in CivU Engineering in 1954. He . ].».■ aaafeciated with, the Department of Highways for seven years and has been assistant Resident Engineer in Wytheville since February, 1965. He is married to the former Nancy Connell and they have three children, Susan, 10, Carol, 8, and Linda, 6. Mr. Skeens holds a Captain’s Commission in the U. S. Army Reserve.
Veterans Day Service
A Veterans Day Service will be held Friday, November 11 at Washington Baptist Church. The church will be open all day for anyone wishing to go in and from 11 a.m. until 12 noon a program of prayers and music will be held. The Rev. Ray Williams, pastor of the church, will be in charge with a program of organ music presented by Arthur Cheat ham.
