Dumping facilities for, Rappahannock County headed the agenda at the November meet-' ing of the Board of Supervisors Friday morning. The dump situation has become acute in the area.‘ Some headway was made in the direction of securing a dump site near Sperryville.' The local Jaycee Chapter had investigated a location in Major’s Hollow on property owned by Howard Butler. Pres ent to report on the possible location of the dump was T. C. Lea speaking for the Jaycees. Mr. Lea said the site had been approved by the Health Department and that Soil Conservationist Ed Wood had recommended that location, giving it an excellent ratihg for long time use. He also outlined estimates of costs for a dam, pipe and its installation necessary to avert any contamination to the Thornton River in the dump area.
The Board proposed that the work be open to any contractor wishing to submit a bid and that this will be advertised.
