In the Pumpkin Seed Guessing Contest held at Hallowe’en time at Murphy's Dept. Store in Culpeper, Mrs. Dorothy Pierce guessed the nearest correct answer, winning $10 in merchandise. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Frazier and daughter Marie attended the funeral on October 31 of Ashby Atkins In Sperryville. Kenneth Hutson and Charlie Hall of Buckhannon, W. Va. were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Frazier. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Frazier, Jr. of Culpeper were guests Saturday of Mr. and Mrs. Frazier, Sr. On Sunday afternoon the Fraziers visited Mr. Frazier’s aunt Mrs. Carrie Dodson and sons of Nethers Mill. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stanley have recently moved into the house on Reginald Burroughs’ farm near Boston. Mrs. Eppa Compton, Sr. of Rixeyville was a Sunday overnight guest of her granddaughter Mrs. Paul F. Butler. C. J, Ireland returned home October 30 from a week at Wolfe’s Island, Canada, where he attended "The Frontenac" Hunt and Field Trials. Mr. and Mrs. James Anderson and daughter of Broad Run spent Sunday with Mr. Anderson’s parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank Anderson. Other guests were their son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jenkins and children of Rixeyville. They were all visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Sparks and family. Mr. and Mrs. James Day of Maryland spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Anderson.
