Sets Donation Day
Donation Day for the Crippled Children’s Hospital, Rich mond, is scheduled for Tuesday, November 22. At this tim<S an appeal is made to all Virginians to share in the program to restore crippled children to physical health and usefulness. The hospital is faced with the necessity of raising $170, 000 to meet operating expenses, and the Thanksgiving seafeon is the only time a general request is made for funds. The Crippled Children’s Hospital is not in any way connected with the Society iourf&rlppled Childreo-eod Adults and does not benefit from Easter Seal sales. The hospital holds quarterly orthopedic and plastic clinics in January, April, July and October. Previously treated and newly referred patients are examined. An average of 100 patients is seen at each clinic, and the hospital follows all orthopedic and plastic patients until they are 18 years of age. The average cost per patient is $15.82 per day. All services are provided free to needy crippled children of Vir gfnia. These services include orthopedic surgery, dental su* gery, laboratory and x-ray service, physical therapy, plastic surgery, eye surgery and occupational therapy.
