Receives Bronze Star
U. S. Air Force Staff Sergeant Edward A. Lillard, son of Mr. andMrs.GuyT. Lillard of Clermont, Fla., has been decorated with the Bronze Star Medal at Elgin AFB, Fla. The medal was given for meritorious serving in military operations against Viet Cong forces.
Sgt. Lillard, an air traffic controller, was cited for his outstanding professional ability and judgement in solving problems which arose dus. ing the performance of his duties while attached to a U. S. Army division at Cu Chi, Vietnam. His actions contributed greatly to the success of the U. S. mission in South east Asia. He is now assigned to Elgin AFB as a member of the Tactical Air Command which provides combat reconnaissance aeriai firepower and assault airlift for the U. S. Army forces.
Sgt. Lillard is a former resident of Rappahannock and attended high school here.
