OBITUARIES

Walter Edward Bruce

Walter Edward Bruce, 66, died Monday, December 12, 1966 at Overhills, N. C. He had lived and worked at the Rockefeller Estates in Overhill for many years. He was a member of the Buffalo Masonic Lodge in Sanford and an elder of the Church of the Covenent in Manchester. Mr. Bruce was born in Sperryville, son of the late Silas B. and Annie C. Bruce. He is survived by his wife Vernice, one son Walter E„ Jr. of Yorktown, Va. and one daughter, Mrs. Edward Penny of Danville. Also by four broth ers, Bryan Bruce of Overhills, Robert and Bennie Bruce of Front Royal and Charles T. Bruce of Washinton; four sisters, Mrs. Gordon Wayland of Castleton, Mfs. Annie Griffith of Culpeper, Mrs. Mack Trotter of North Hollywood, Calif., and Mrs. Nina B. Brown of Sperryville; and four grandchildren*.

A funeral service was held Wednesday, December 14 at 2 p. m. at the Presbyterian Church of Covenent, Manchester. Burial was in the Cross Creek Cemetery in Fayetteville, N. C.
