A total of 165 youth hosteler8 stayed overnight at the Ragged Mountain Farm Supplemental Hostel at Nethers during the year October 1965 to September 1966, according to the houseparents, Mr. and Mrs. Marion D. Pettie. Thirty foreigners — from Belgium, Britain and Denmark — stayed overnight during the same period. During October 1966, 26, im eluding 13 from the Washing-* ton, D.C. area, used the hostel; in November 1966, 15,; including 13 from Arlington, Virginia used the supplement tal hostel. The other two hostelers in November were British. A Youth Hostel is an inexi pensive accommodation for young people traveling “under, their, own power* -- biking, hiking, skiing, etc. Youth Hostels are located in scenic, historic and cultural areas.
