Thomas Stuart O’lialloran, 83, of Viewtown, a retired ordnance engineer with the U. S. Department of the Navy, died Thursday, January 5, at the Viewtown residence of his son, Thomas Alvin O’Halloran .with whomfche had made his jhome for the pSst year. A native of Philadelphia, Da., he was the son . of the late Thomas O’Halloran and the late Annie Plaugher O’Halloran. His wife was the late Mary Elizabeth Saunders O’Halloran whom he married in 1905. ( Mr. O’Halloran was educated in the public schools of Washington, D.C., and George Washington University, where he majored in mechanical engineering. He began his career at the Washington Navy ;Yard as a machinist and progressively advanced to the position of ordnance engineer. Upon his retirement in 1945 he was commended by James Forrestal, then Secretary of the Navy for designing "temporary mounts simulating actual seaboard conditions which contributed greatly to the successful proving of large calibre guns." ,A resident of Arlington from 1913 until last year, he was active, in rpaponi^ circles in
