Wednesday morning, yesterday, at 7:25 a.m. an auto and a tractor-trailer collided in a slight crash at the east limits of the town of Washington,according to Trooper W. A. Buntin. A 61-62 Ford operated by Clifford Warren Foster of Washington and a 66 International tractor-trailer operated by Robert Lee Martin of Brandy Station were involved. The tractor was owned by Lane Transfer, Co. of Brandy Station. Foster was coming out of his driveway as the tractor came around a blind curve. The tractor operator applied his brakes to avoid striking the car, but skidded into the rear of the vehicle, said Trooper Buntin. There were no injuries and damage was estimated at $350 to the Ford and $300 to the heavy rig.
