The Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department is putting the final touches to the Annual Carnival and Parade which will be held August 2-5. Again this year McSpadden rides from Florida will furnish 10 or more flashy rides on the brilliantly illuminated midway.
Wednesday, August 2, there will be a giant display of fireworks for all to seeandenjoy. The attractions for the next three nights are also ones that you will not want to miss. On Thursday, August 3, at 7 p.m. D.S.T. there will be a grand parade consisting of over 150units. The parade will be led as usual by a U. S. service band from the Washington area, and Grand Marshal Miss Becky Alkire, 'Miss American Teenager* from Circleville, Ohio. The newly crowned 'Miss Virginia", Miss Barbara Yost, will appear as special guest. The parade will also include an Army missile unit, many top marching bands, floats, beauty queens, majorettes, antique cars, distinguished guests and the newest and oldest in fire fighting and rescue equipment. Openings for Students in Driver Training Program
There are openings for boys and girls in Rappahannock County who are interested in the Driver Training Program being conducted this summer. Requirements include comple tion of the classroom phase of Driver’s Education and age of not less than 15 years, 8 months.
