Sperryville Firemen
Complete Carnival
Sperryville Fire Department completed carnival activities with a two night holdover Friday and Saturday after being rained out two nights the week prior. Action Friday evening was somewhat shortened by a shower but Saturday proved good and a large gathering remained for the auction held at the close of the carnival. Jimmy Bennett of Boston was the recipient of the lawn mower given away and the doll went to Earl Jenkins of Woodville.
A total of receipts was not complete, but officers and members of the volunteer organization extended a note of appreciation to all who attended and supported their efforts. To all who worked, helped or contributed in any manner, the group voiced a word of thanks. The installation of rest rooms and water in the kitchen of the new fire hall has been accomplished with Robert Clatterbuck of Flint Hill doing the work. However, there is more to be undertaken before the building is actually completed.
