tio'n. This is his first attempt ior a public office. The seat for Hawthorne District is being vacated by A. H. Buckner; Jr. of Sperryville. According to Mr. Buckner his hea 1th and age prevent his seek ing re-election to the position. He has been a member of the Board for 32 years. A possible write-in candidate for Hawthorne District Supervisor is Lt. Col. Norman Wilbur (USAF Ret.) of Slate Mills. He circulated a petition for the office, butbusi ness out of the county prevented his filing a declaration candidacy by the 21st deadline Though he was not avail able for comment this week, a family spokesman, said Mr. Wilbur would in all probability campaign for a write-in vote. Mr. Wilbur served 23 years with the U. S. Air Force before retiring to become a farmer. He is a member and Deacon of Slate Mills Baptist Church. Other members of the Board
