Dear Mrs. Varner. By way of introduction may I say I am a native Virginian, although it has been many years since feasting my eyes on the lovely Blue Ridge and Shenandoah Valley area. Recently I was privileged to read your Sperryville Area News as it appeared in the Culpeper Star-Exponent, issued on Thursday, June 8, 1967. Some of the names appearing in your column are familiar to me, but I am wondering if they are the1 same individuals recalled from my memory. Specifically, Mrs. Charles Estes. Is this Charles Estes the son of James A. Estes from Sperryville? As I recall the Estes family there were the following children, Abby, Charles, Robert and Edward, May, Annabell, Emma, and Margaret. If memory serves me correctly, M a y married a Mr. Robert Taylor and died in child birth with their first child. Emma now should be Mrs. Lee Swindler, or as I recall, she married Mi; Lee Swindler. Annabell and Margaret were not married when I left Virginia some thirty five years ago. Charles as I recall had just married prior to my leaving and was
