Contest Opens
Many girls in Virginia are making preparation to participate in “Make it Yourself With Wool* Contest this Fall. Girls between the ages of 1421 years who are interested in making a wool garment for themselves and participating in a district contest should contact Diane V. Brown for additional information and to secure an entry form. The contest will be divided into two divisions; Junior (ages 14-16 i n c 1 u s i v e) and Senior (ages 17-21) and girls may make any one of the following garments of 100% American loomed wool to model in the contest: a two piece suit (no pants, coulottes or slacks); coat or dress (school, jacket dress, party or formal). All entry forms must be mailed to the National, State and District Directors prior to October 1. The Northern District (#3) will be held on October at the James Wood High School, Winchester, Va. beginning at 10 a. m. This Contest offers an opportunity for teenage girls to have experience with selecting wool fabrics, accessories appropriate for the outfit and in modeling their costume before a panel of judges.
