Mr. and Mrs. Frank L. Atkins of Sperryville celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with a family dinner at their home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Atkins were married August 22, 1917 at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Marion Atkins-who lived at "the old Yates place*. This was located in what is now part of Shenandoah National Park, and as Mrs. Atkins described, was right at the foot of Hazel Mountain, The Rev. Warren Gorbin, pastor of the Beech Spring Baptist Church, performed the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Atkins have eight children, four grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Among the guests attending the delightful dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Atkins, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Atkins and daughter Cathleen, Mrs^tCharles Settle and son Chucky, Miss Elsie Dodson, Miss Margaret Dodson, and Mrs. Helen Atkins, all of Flint Hill; Mrs. Jonas Jenkins of Washington, Va.; Mrs. Lizzie Dondson, Mrs. Wayne Wood, Mrs. Henley Brown and sons Eddie and Jerry, all of Front Royal. Also Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Bennett and children Bobby and Amy, Alexandria, Mr. and Mrs. Mac H. Barnes of Cabin
