Among the collection of items at the Washington House of Antiques opened by Mr. Carrignn is this fine Spanish Moroccan Chest on table which dates back to the late 16th century. The art work is done in ivory and turquoise shell inlay depicting hunt and travel scenes of the Spanish Duke who gave it to the American Consul, Mr. Gummerer in Tangiers during the administration of Theodora Roosevelt. The American Marines had assisted in the capture of a vicious bandit occupying the property of the Duke. At left, C. M. Green of Amissvilie examines a Buddha.
