Church Notice
There will be no worship service at the Flint Hill Baptist Church on Sunday, September 3, but Sunday School will be held as usual.
Culpeper Art Show
Set Sat. and Sun.
The sixth annual Culpeper Art Fair will be open Saturday and Sunday, August 26and 27, as a benefit for the Culpeper Library book fund. Adult entries will be exhibited in the Culpeper Fire Co.,Rescue Squad Building and the junior entries in the Municipal Building across the street. The exhibits will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Besides the entries in several classes, there will be special exhibits by six guest a r t i s t s - sculpture by Mrs. Sandra Waugh Burton, by Mrs. James J. Kilpatrick (Marie Pietri) and by Paul Losely; ceramics by Miss June Jordan; and creative dolls by Miss Burma Bowie and Mrs. W. E. James. Judging will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The judges will be Mrs. Elizabeth Fleming, a professional painter now living in Washington, D. C., and Eliot Clark, the internationally-known painter, writer, and lecturer of Charlottesville.
Rappahannock County artists participating in the Art Fair include Mrs. Stewart H. Butler, Mrs. L. J. Kilby, Mrs. James F. Smith, Mrs. Elmo D. Flynt, Mrs. G. Brown Miller, Joseph C. Carter, Mrs. E. N. Montague, and Mrs. T. J. Pillar.
