Bridge Party

Mr8. R. V. Snead entertained with dessert bridge at her homeC Fairlea Farm, in Washington last Thursday. Her guests included Mrs. H. L. Smith, Mrs. W. F. Moffett, Jr., Mrs. W. F. Moffett, Sr., Mrs. E. M. Jones, Mrs. W. H. Massie, Jr., Mrs. F. W. Spalding, Mrs. L. J. Turner, and Mrs. T. C. Lea. Prizes were awarded to both Mrs. Moffetts, Mrs. Spalding, and Mrs. Turner.

House warming

Mr. and Mrs. James H. Blankenbaker of Culpeper were hosts to a housewarming for Mr. and Mrs. Lester Deal at their home near Sperryville on Saturday, August 19. After the opening and displaying of gifts, delicious refreshments were served to the following guests: Bonnie Woodward, Mrs. Mae Hawkins, Mrs. Celeste Merrill, and John Leake, all of Culpeper.

Also Mrs. Diane Deitz of Washington, D. C.; Mrs. John Poist of Laurel, Md.; Mrs. James Chesgreen of Gambrills, Md.; Miss Linda Mills of Huntly; and Mrs. George Davis of Washington. Those attending from Sperryville were Mr. and Mrs. Luther Jenkins and daughter, Linda, Mrs. Virginia Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jenkins and family, Mr. and Mrs. George Jenkins, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Yates, Col. and Mrs. John Clea/y, Mrs. Clifton Jeru kins and children, Dennis Jenkins, John Walker Jenkins, Mrs. Mabel Deal and family, Mrs. Mary Quaintance, Mrs. Henry Sisk, Mrs. Milton Sisk, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Leake, and Mrs. Brown Miller.
