Army Grad Program
Young men who graduated from high school last June still have time to enlist in the U. S. Army under the Graduate Specialist Program if they act immediately, it was announced today by Sergeant Catlett, local Army Recruiter. Under this program, qualified high school graduates receive a written guarantee of the classroom training of theis choice before they enlffet. Over 300 courses in precision, electrical and motor maintenance, electronics, the combat specialties, general technical skills, military crafts, clerical, and graphics are offered under this program.
High School seniors may determine their initial qualification at the local recruiting office located at 41E Piccadilly St., Winchester, Va. prior to graduation. Based on their abilities and interests, Sergeant Catlett will help them select their first choice of training and two alternates. If quotas for the first choice are filled, men may still become Graduate Specialties in one of their alternates. “The Graduate Specialist Program guarantees young men a seat in the course of their choice if they decide to enlist. But it does not obligate them in any way. They do not have to accept an alternate, and they may even decide not :o enlist" said Sergeant Catlett.
