Mr. Jon Morgan has renovated a three-story log house, White Gate Farm, which has every indication of being of pre-Revolutionary vintage. TTiis house is located on Rt. 616, which is off of Rt. 626 between Mt. Lebanon Church and Rock Mills.

The hours of the tour and sale are between 11 - 5 on Saturday and between 1 - 5 on Sunday. Block tickets are $1.50;

Two Prisoners Escape

From Road Gang

Two prisoners from Camp 11 in Culpeper who were working with a road gang on Route 617 near Castleton in Rappahannock County escaped Tuesday about 9:45 a.m.

They were Edward Prince, 20, of Fairfax County who was serving a six month term for destroying property. He was given an additional six months tin<e after he escaped about a month ago. Steve Walter Compton of Halifax County was serving a 4-year term for statutory burglary. He is 23 years old. Both were still at large at press time.

Voter Registration Heavy in County

Heavy voting registration has taken place in Rappahannock County in recent weeks prior to the closing of registration books early in October. New registrants total 140 and by districts are as follows: Jackson, 25; Piedmont, 20; Stonewall, 8; Hawthorne, 9; Hampton, 36; and Wakefield with two precincts, Chester Gap, 13 and Flint Hill, 29.

Attends Welfare Meeting

On October 9th and 10th Mrs. William Buntin was at Natural Bridge attending a joint district meeting of local welfare department executives conducted by the Department of Welfare and Institutions. Miss Helen Wiesenfeld, who has recently joined the local welfare department staff, attended the first session of an institute for new social workers at the William Byrd Motor Hotel in Richmond from October 8th through 11th.
