Hie ferns and all growth as well as the mountains are beyond description. The red hibiscus is the state flower. There are other hibiscus, different colors. Anthuriums are exotic and found in abundance. They look artificial. The Plumeria is a fragrant, waxy flower suited for making leis. Hie leaves of the red and green ti plant are used for making Hula skirts. Hie real Hula dancers use these instead of the grass skirts.
The pink shower trees are lovely. Hie yellow shower tree has golden clusters which fall like clusters of grapes, overwhelming the tree during its flowering season in June and July. After the five petal blossoms fall off, the long black pistils develop into Mack pods measuring as long as 3 ft. It is a member of the pea family, native to tropical Asia. To me, the most beautiful is the flaming royal Poinciana spreading its beauty over a wide area. Nutmegs growing on the trees are an interesting sights.
