Henson, Sr.
Walter Irvin Henson, sr. 76, of Front Royal died Saturday, October 12, 1968 at his home. He was a retired employee of the Warren and Rappahannock Schools.
He was a native of Shenandoah County, son of the late Joseph Elliott Henson and Mrs. Sarah F. Sibert Henson.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucille Compton Henson; two sons, Walter I. Henson, jr., Front Royal and Joseph Richard Henson, Staunton; two daughters, Mrs. Leslie E. Good of Front Royal and Mrs. Sidney L. Rogers of Wilson, N. C.; eight grandchildren; a brother, R. J. Henson of Mt. Jackson; two sisters, Mrs. Hugh Wakeman and Miss Florence Henson, both of Front Royal.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 in the Front Royal United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. H. Hasbrouck Hughes, Jr. Burial was in Bennett’s Chapel Cemetery.
Phillip J. Fincham
Phillip J. Fincham, 92, of Chester Gap died in Shenandoah County Memorial Hospital Friday, October 11,1968.
Funeral services were held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, Front Royal. Tlie Rev. Irving Johnson officiated and interment was in Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Winchester. He was bom at Massies Comer, Rappahannock County, Nov. 22, 1875, a son of the late Jack and Sally Fincham. Surviving are two sons, Amos Fincham of Baltimore, Md., and Early Fincham of Upperville; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
