Annual Show 23-26

The Virginia State Fox Hunters Association will hold their 46th Annual Bench Show and Field Trials in Culpeper on October 23-26. Hie Bench Show will be held at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, at the Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises, four miles south of Culpeper on Royte 29. Dr. Charles N. Barron of Chester Springs, Pa. will be the judge.

Hie casting of hounds will take place at 7 a.m. Thursday, Friday

Marsh Kicks Off

Re-election Drive

Congressman John O. Marsh Jr. kicked off his re-election campaign yesterday in his home town and home county, Strasburg and Shenandoah.

Fresh from Monday’s adjournment of Congress and a live debate that night in Waynesboro, the Congressman made a stop at the Marsh for Congress Campaign Headquarters in Strasburg yesterday morning.

“I am glad to be back in my home area and back among my many friends,’’ the Representative said.

“During the past six years I have been confronted with many difficult issues,” Rep. Marsh said, “and with each issue and decision, the considered opinion of the people of the Seventh District was highly valuable to i me.” | Marsh went on a campaigning l tour of parts of Shenandoah County, including stops in the communities of Wheatfield, Lebanon Church and others.

Along the campaign trail the Congressman stopped frequently to talk with Shenandoah County residents and voters, and discuss many of the campaign issues.

'Die Congressman noted that in recent months and weeks he has tried to campaign in most areas of the district but was frequently interrupted by extended or unexpected sessions of the House of Representatives.

First elected to Congress six years, ago, Marsh is the only Virginia Representative-from either party-on the House Appropriations Committee.
