Clarke Announces
Candidacy for House
William E. Clarke of Warrenton has announced his candidacy for the House of Delegates from the 28th legislative district which is composed of Rappahannock, Rauquier and Warren counties. This office, left vacant by the * recent death of Delegate Tom Frost, is'* sought by two other candidates also, Duncan C. Gibb of Front Royal and Preston Pulliam of Warrenton.
Mr Clarke is president and owner of Clarke Realty Co., Warrenton. He is a native Virginian, 39, and married to the former Judith Sullivan of Alexandria. He attended both George Washington and American Universities.
He was president and business representative of the Milk Drivers and Dairy Employees Union, has served as president of the Warrenton-Fauquier Chamber of Commerce; Fauquier Citizens for Good Zoning; board member of the Fauquier Unit American Cancer Society. Mr. Clarke is a member of the Virginia Farm Bureau and Virginia thoroughbred Association, and says he is a life-long Democrat. He was a delegate to the state and national Democratic conventions in 1968. V
