We hare all heard the familiar old song about “When apples grow on the lilac tree”, but in Amissville we have another first. . . an apple growing on a grapevine. Mrs. G. E. Doyle was pruning the vines and discovered an apple hanging on the grapevine, looking as though it had grown right there. Upon very close scrutiny, it was detected a grape runner had grown around the apple stem and held, it tightly. It was too much of a curiosity not to share.
