SperryviUe Fire Co. Name* New Officers

The SperryviUe Volunteer Fire Department held an election of officers at a meeting Monday night. John Walker Jenkins was named president of the group and Donald Gore was elected as Chief. This action was taken due to the death of former president, Robert F. Estes.

All active members and all former members of the fire company are requested to attend a meeting on Wednesday, November 5 at the new fire hall beginning at 8 p.m. at which time needed adjustments and plans foi the future will be discussed. Regular monthly meetings will be held the first Wednesday of each month thereafter.

AmissvUle Baptist Schedule Revival

The fall revival at Amissville Baptist Church will begin Sunday, Oct. 26 and continue through the week closing on Friday, Oct. 31. The Rev. Paul Jakes of Clinton, Miss, will be the guest evangelist. Mr. Jakes led the revival here last year and says he is looking forward to a second visit in the community. Homemakers To Meet

With Mrs. Green

The Boston-Slate Mill* Homemakers Club will meet at the home of Mrs. Edith Green at Slate Mills on Thursday, October 23 at 7:30 p.m. Miss Judy Burtner, Extension Agent, will give a talk on “The Art of Self-Confidence”. Mrs. Howard J. Waddell will demonstrate “Etching Aluminum”. All homemakers are welcome.

Conference of United Methodist Charge

The Charge Conference of the United Methodist Church will be held at SperryviUe October 19th. Worship Service at 11 a.m. Dr. Harvey Ashby, Superintendent of the Charlottesville District, will be the speaker. Lunch and business meeting will be held at the Fire House following the worship service.
