Address PTA Meet

On Tuesday Night

The Rappahannock County Elementary School PTA combined with Parent-Teacher Conference night is scheduled for Tuesday, October 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the school.

Dr. Raymond B. Allen will be the guest speaker for the PTA program taking as his subject, Growth and Development of Human Beings and Communities. After the program, parents are invited to the classrooms to discuss the progress or problems of their children with the teachers. The public is invited and the support of parents is urged.

Dr. Allen, a resident of Flint Hill, is a consultant with Health, Education and Population Dynamics and part-time adviser of AID in Population Service. He is presently making a personal study of medical education and the need for change and reform. He is keenly interested in Rappahannock’s health conditions and resources and steps which can be taken to improve them. He has been a doctor and surgeon.

He is a native of Cathay, N. D. He was educated in North Dakota and Minnesota and received his M.D. and PhD from the University of Minnesota.

First Aid Group

Exam October 29th

The advanced First aid course which is now underway in Sperryville will be completed on October 27 and an examination will be given on October 29. The examination will be held in Culpeper. This is being done in prder that the group can see demonstrations on and administration of oxygen in First aid, and will have equipment for use and practice.
