Clarke Plea Fails
William E. Clarke of Warrenton, a candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates, lost his bid to have his name printed on the ballots in the general election November 4. Clarke seeks the seat vacated by the death of 'lorn Frost, as does Duncan C. Gibb of Front Royai and F. Preston Pulliam of Warrenton. The names of Gibb and Pulliam were placed on the ballots which have already been printed. Mr. Clarke had made a plea to the State Supreme Court which in its last day of the session decided against the petition.
