un t it strange that words seem to have a period of common usage and then fade into the limbo of an almost dead language? The word I have in mind Is ALTRUIST. We used to hear of the Divine Altruist in referring to the Master Jesus, or maybe to some dedicated person as being altruistic in their personal conduct. I’ve known a few doctors and preachers that I thought the term would fit, but it seems that the present day philosophy is every one for himself and the devil take the hindmost. Guess the closest approximation we use today is to say a person is an extrovert. Is there a loss in the true meaning or do I just imagine it?
Every thinking, serious-minded person has a philosophy to which he endeavors to adhere. One’s convictions should include altruism, with a sense of fairness to oneself as well as to others. One must be truly honest with himself and maintain self-respect, integrity and personal dignity. One should not waste his thoughts in pessimistic attitudes, rather let him enjoy each glorious moment in dreams of a brighter future. Time is of the essence if
