Open House for Ed.
Classes Tonight
Open House is scheduled for Thursday, March 26 at the local high school in connection with the Adult Education Classes which have just been completed. Classes included upholstery, chair caning, typing, welding and interior decorating. Certificates will be awarded participants at the open house tonight which is held from 7 until 9 p.m. A display of work done in the caning and upholstery classes may be seen. I.R. Kilby, Chairman of Rappahannock County School Board will present certificates.
Refreshments will be served and several door prizes will be awarded. The public is invited to attend.
Community College To Honor First Students
William C. B. Berghaus, Coordinator of Admissions and Records at Lord Fairfax Community College, announced today that there will be a ceremony on March 28 at 10:00 a.m. to honor the first students to be admitted to the college from the eight political subdivisions the college represents. These eight students represent the counties of Page, Rappahannock, Fauquier, Warren, Shenandoah, Frederick and Clarke, and the City of Winchester.
The students will have the opportunity to meet the administrators at Lord Fairfax Community College and discuss with them their plans for the future. This will be followed by a tour of the building site and lunch at the Wayside Inn as guests of the college.
The ceremony will take place at the college’s temporary headquarters in the Old Dominion Motel on Route 11 one mile north of Middletown.
