Miss Browning died at the Fairfax Hospital March 18, 1970 at the age of 86. She was the daughter of the late David Stover Browning and the late Lucy Mildred Rudasill Browning of Rappahannock County.
She owned and operated a farm at Castleton for many years in addition to teaching in the elementary schools of Rappahannock County for more than forty years. She moved to her present home in Culpeper in 1961. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Claudia B. Payne of Culpeper and a niece, Mrs. Elizabeth B. P. Schmidt of Arlington. Pallbearers were Ariie Estes, William B. and Michael B. Schmidt, J. T. Woodward, Edward Boldridge, Ray Cannon, John Henry Woodward and Vincent Painter.
Mrs. Mary Collins
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Collins of Arlington died March 20,1970 in Northern Virginia Doctors Hospital. She was 87, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Hackley. of Amissville, and the widow of Maurice Collins, Arlington.
Survivors are two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Fannie McQuinn, Mrs. Annie L. Collins and John Hackley, all of Arlington.
A funeral service was held at the funeral home in Arlington Monday and an additional service was held at 2:30 p.m. at the Amissville United Methodist Church of which Mrs. Collins was a life member. Interment was in the church cemetery.
