Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Latham and daughter were holiday weekend guests of her parents Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Barron. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Compton and family of Rixeyville were guests Sunday afternoon of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Bailey and Mrs. Nannie Sutton. Dickie Reid has returned home after being a patient in the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville. Mrs. Florine Smith and Mrs. Gladys Mozingo of Arlington visited friends in the area during the holiday weekend. Guests Easter Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Acrey Dodson were Mr. and Mrs. Carson Edwards and daughter Tressa, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Frazier and son Tommy of Warrenton, Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton Scott and son Mike ol Bealeton, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Settle and son Rickie, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Reid and family Dickie and Sherry and Mr. anc Mrs. Charles Dodson and childrer Carolyn, Charles Jr., Glen and James.
Leave For Philippines
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Curtis and daughter Karen of near Amissville will leave next week for the Philippine Islands where Mr. Curtis will spend the next two years on State Department duty in Manila. They will begin their travels on April 7, and the first stop will be in Malden, Mo. where they will visit Mrs. Curtis’ parents Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hinze. From there they will go to San Francisco to hoard a boat for their destination, but with stops in Hawaii, Japan and Hong Kong before reaching Manila.
Mr. and Mrs. Curtis were feted with a covered dish supper given by the Young Adult class ol Amissville Baptist Church last Thursday. About forty people attended and the group presented the Curtises a farewell gift.
