Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Simpson of Luray were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Keyser at The Oaks.
Miss Mary Brooke Massie was the weekend guest of her grandmother Mrs. W. H. Massie, Jr. Mrs. Massie, Miss Massie and Mrs. T. C. Lea were Monday visitors in Winchester and callers of H. L. Miller at the Shawnee Nursing Home.
Mrs. L. T. Callahan and granddaughter Piper Reynolds of Rockville, Md. were Tuesday and Wednesday guests of Mrs. Callahan’s parents, Mr. and Mrs W. C. Hall at Rose Hill.
OBITUARIES
Col. Charles King
Col. Charles Willoughby King of Ben Venue, Washington, Va. died Wednesday, April 1,1970 at Winchester Memorial Hospital. Col. King formerly served in the Army Air Force Material Command, Wright Field. At the time of his death he was president of Charles King and Son Co., Inc. in Charlottesville. He was a former director of Citizens National Bank of Alexandria and of the Alexandria Building and Loan Association. He served on the staff of the Governor of Virginia as aide de camp under governors John Pollard and George Perry. Col. King was a Master Mason, Grand Chapter, Royal Arch No. 14, Mt. Vernon Chapter for fifty years. He was a member of the American Legion for 52 years, a Knight Templar and was active in the Virginia State Chamber of Commerce. Born in Alexandria, Va. on June 16, 1892, Col. King was the son of the late Frank Tubman King and Margaret Waller Roland King. He was the husband of the late Mary Herndon Green King. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Louise King Eastham and two grandsons, Fletcher and Lindsay Eastham, all of Ben .Venue, Washington, Va.
A funeral service will be held Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church, Washington at 2 p.m. with interment in the family cemetery at Ben Venue Farm.

A graveside service for Eugene Alexander Nifenecker, Jr., 59, of Slate Mills, was held Tuesday at Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper. The Rev. Horace Douty conducted the service. Mr. Nifenecker, a retired policeman, died Sunday, March 29,1970 at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marietta T. Nifenecker of the home address and a sister, Mrs. Janet Nichols of Bergenfield, N. J.
Clore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
