Do you have any knowledge of chemistry? You should have, mainly for your own protection ind safety because most cleaning products today are chemical compounds. They are usually divided into two groups: Alkalis and Acids. This article will deal with Alkalis. Next week’s will be written about acids.
Probably the best known alkalis for household cleaning are baking soda and ammonia. Other common alkalis are borax, tri-sodium phosphate (TSP), washing soda (sal soda), and lye.
