Trout Opening At high noon on Saturday, April 4, the 1970 edition of Virginia trout fishing kicks off. There will be no starting gun nor whistle, nor will there be general agreement as to exactly when the magic moment arrives. Anglers lining the several hundred popular trout streams will exchange glances a couple of minutes before the hour, most will hesitate, but some bold angler will dunk his salmon eggs or garden hackle and the new season will be underway. The creel limit is 8, except for a handful of lakes with special limits.of 5, and the fishing lasts until an hour after sunset. The season ends December 31.
