The primary business of the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors at the regular April meeting Friday was the annual road hearing. Though this was the annual opportunity to air complaints and beefs concerning secondary roads in the county, there were fewer attending and fewer complaints registered than usual. Highway Resident Engineer James Skeens and several from his department attended the hearing.
Among those heard at the meeting was Herman Scharmer who had a petition for improvement of Routes 611 and 648 near Amissville. George Gollaher, also of near Amissville registered a complaint on conditions of Route 645 and a request was made for a sign at the bridge on that road. He also complained that shrubbery on the state right of way near the intersection of Routes 211 and 645 interferred with safety at this corner.
John Tapp of Amissville was complimentary concerning the improvement being made at present on Route 637 and asked that another mile or so receive attention as soon as possible. Mrs.
