tor a year-round trout season, the Commission declined to take such a step. Claytor Lake, Flannagan and Fairy Stone State Park Lakes were added to the list with year around trout fishing, however. Sunday fishing was approved for Botetourt County. A proposal was made to cut the general trapping season by 10 days, moving the dosing date for mink, muskrat, raccoon and spossum back to February 28. The early squirrel season in Greene County was dropped.

Wage System

Rep. John O. Marsh, Jr., has irged adoption of an area wage-board system to fix postal jmployees’ salaries. “This system, which already is in use for adjusting the compensation of many craft workers in the federal government, could bring about equitable treatment for postal workers,” Marsh said, “because it would relate salaries to those paid For like work In private business in a given area”. (Wage boards periodically adjust the compensation of Federal workers in a variety of crafts, such as electricians, plumbers, heating-plant engineers and other maintenance personnel. The wage boards apply private-industry scales on an area, rather than a national, basis to reflect differences in wage levels and living costs between small communities and major metropolitan centers. Tire individual wage board determinations do not require Congressional action.)
