were Sunday visitors or C. A. Smith. ’ Mr. and Mrs. Norvel James had as their visitors Sunday afternoon Min Thelma James and Mrs. J. B. Geer of Charlottesville. Other callers were Mr. and Mrs. Allen Blair. Mr. Blair returned home Friday from a tour of duty in Vietnam.
Attending the District W.S.C.S. meeting Tuesday in Charlottesville were Mrs. Elwood Dean, Mrs. Ruth Corbitt, Mrs. Ruth Davis accompanied by Mrs. W. A. Layman and Mrs. Viola Cropp of Jeffersonton.
The W.S.C.S. of Amlssville United Methodist Church met last Wednesday with 16 members present. The primary order of business was the planning for a public dinner featuring old Virginia ham and chicken which will be held May 2 at the church social hall.
Mrs. Paul Poling entered Northern Virginia Doctor’s Hospital today and will undergo major surgery tomorrow. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lillard of Rapidan, are staying with the family during her hospitalization.
Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Payne and son Billy were dinner guests Tuesday evening of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Giles in Warrenton.
