of the number of people these departments serve who need psychiatric help. Many have no place to tum as the facilities previously used in Charlottesville are no longer available in view of the large backlog of work.

The Culpeper Mental Health Clinic has invited Rappahannock to join its facilities on a cost share base. They have a team of psychiatrists from the University of Va. who serve patients certain days every month.

Since the State of Virginia feels localities are to be responsible for the Mental Health needs of the people, the citizens present at the meeting voted to organize the Rappahannock Mental Health Association. The following officers were elected for one year terms: Dr. R. B. Allen, Chairman; Mrs. Mary Cleverley, Vice Chairman; Mrs. James Massie, Secretary; and Mrs. Francis Thomton, Treasurer.

A total of $662 has been contributed to the Association by various individuals and groups in the county. If anyone cares to make a donation (tax deductible), it may be directed to Mrs. Thornton or to the Rappahannock Mental Health Association, Rt. 1, Box 106, Amissville, Va. 22002.
