The results from the 4-H Light Horse and Pony Show held Saturday, October 24, at Fairlea, home pf Judge and Mrs. R. V Snead In Washington, Va. are as follows:
Small Pony Champion - Eva Dahlgren, riding Sunrise
Reserve Champion • Cathy Coley, riding Snowflake
Large Pony Champion - Carol Broaddus, riding Silverbell
Reserve - A hack off between Lib Snead riding Ad Lib and Eva Dahlgren on Miss Confederate. Lib Snead won reserve champion.
Junior Hunter Champion - Lib Snead riding Cutty Sark, owned by Joan Van Brederode
Junior Reserve Champion - Lisa Day riding El Cid
Equitation Champion - Tie between Ann Baumgardner and Lib Snead. Ann Baumgardner won Equitation champion, Lib Snead, reserve.
There were 4 entries in the Costume class, an event which was entertaining and amusing.
The winners: 1st place - Beth Parker, dressed as an Indian, riding Mauri Raney’s horse Snow Clouds Appache Belle
2nd place • Cil Davis, horse and rider dressed as a chef representing the Galloping Gourmet, on Mr. Brown
3rd place - Lib Snead - on Ad Lib, horse and rider dressed as ar angel.
4th - Thomas Banks • or Starlight, representing a Bronchc Buster.
