During the 1971 travel season visitors to Shenandoah National Park will be charged entrance and use fees similar to the system used last year, declared Superintendent R. Taylor Hoskins.
A wallet-sized $10 “Golden Eagle Passport” will be used in 1971. It will be valid for the calender year. It must be signed by the purchaser and will be honored for entrance to designated U. S. Fee-Areas where entrance/day-use fee is applicable. It entitles the purchaser and all persons accompanying him in a private noncommercial vehicle to enter all such designated areas.
At Shenandoah National Park a daily permit is available fpr those who do not wish to purchase an annual “Golden Eagle.” The $2.00 permit is good for an individual or a carload of passengers entering the Park in a private noncommercial vehicle. The daily permit shall be valid for the calendar day it is purchased, except that overnight visitors will be permitted to exit the Park until noon" the following day without payment of an additional fee.
