Annual Town
Cleanup April 11-17
The Annual Clean up - Fix up Week for the Town of Washington has been set from April 11 through April 17. Extra trash removal pick-ups will be made on Saturday, the 17th. Trash of all types will be removed at this time. Also as has been the custom since 1951, as a public service sapling dogwood trees will be made available upon request to the County Agent’s office, prior to Friday, April 9. On that day dogwoods will be delivered to that affice and may be picked up there between 1 and 5 p.m. Assisting in this project of digging the trees which will be donated as usual by George H. Davis, Jr. from Avondale Farm will be Clifton Jenkins of the State Forestry Service, Jack Lockhart, Sanitation Officer of the Health Department, Irving Kenyon, County Game Warden and Rapley Owens, County Extension Agent. Requests for trees may be made by calling the Extension Office, 675-3619.
Lenten Program Closes
The last of the series in the Lenten Program at Trinity Episcopal Church will be held Maundy Thursday, April 8 from 6 - 8 p.m. beginning with supper in the Parish Hall.
On Good Friday, April 9 a service of Litany and short talk by the Rector will be held at 12 noon.
Dr. Bryant Speaks
Dr. James R. Bryant of Richmond will conduct services at the Washington Baptist Church, Sunday, April 4 at 11 a.m.
