Panther Tales

The Choir gave a grand performance Tuesday -night in the play “The Belle of the West.” They have worked during and after school to make this play the success it was.
Cheerleading practice for next year’s cheerleaders starts this Monday. The cheerleaders for the Varsity will come from next year’s Juniors and Seniors and the Junior Varsity’s will come from the eighth and ninth grades. The Sophomore will have a choice of whether they want to try out for J.V. or Varsity. The final tryouts will be April 16th.
Last Wednesday, the Jazz Band from Warren County entertained the student body. It was directed by Dr. David Blauvelt who also played with them. The thirteen piece band was organized by boys in the school band on a volunteer basis. They played many selections from movie themes and modern songs, including The Pink Panther, Sonny and Love is Blue. Congratulations are in order for the men Faculty members (hi their victory over the Senior boys with the score 73-37. Also congratulations to the Senior girls for their victory over the women teachers 20-12. There was much fighting, grabbing and holding during this game, and the Student Body would like to express their sorrow to Mr. Harrison who now has a beautiful black eye. The Seniors just had a bad night and did not have victory, but they sure put up a fight. S.C.A. elections are to be held this Thursday. Campaign speeches were given Wednesday. The final outcome is not yet known but the students have a fine group from which to choose. Be sure to cast your vote for the candidate you think will be the best job.
