Mrs. Clifton Naide was honored with a surprise birthday party last Sunday by her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Deal and son Larry of Arlington and a large group of friends who enjoyed a buffet dinner. Others present, with Mr. Naide, included Mr. and Mrs. Billy Hawkins of Arlington; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lillard and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Crossman and family of Rapidan; Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Petty and Jim of Front Royal; Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Lillard and Miss Annie I. Lillard of Washington, D. C.; Mrs. Thomas Hawkins, Miss Joan Hawkins and Steven Hawkins of Fredericksburg; Miss Ruby and Miss Mary Jenkins. Also Mrs. W. B. Jenkins of Washington, Va., Mrs. Harold Jenkins, Miss Mary Lee Menefee, Miss Debbie Menefee and Mrs. Frankie Menefee and Mrs. Hazel Hoake of Luray; also Mr. and Mrs. Mason Rector, Miss Flossie Settle and Miss Myrtle Settle and Miss Edith Driscoll of Culpeper; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lillard and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hawkins of Boston. Mrs. Naide received many beautiful birthday gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Butler and family of Springfield, Mr. and Mrs. Paul F. Butler and family and Mrs. Cary Thornhill were recent Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Butler, Sr. Miss Faye Burke, daughter of J. B. Burke, left Dulles Airport Saturday night for London, England. She will spend two weeks visiting her classmate Mrs. Gary Geil and Sgt. Geil in their home at Lakenheath AFB at Brandon.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Miller of Silver Spring, Md. were Sunday guests of Mrs. Miller’s father William L. Saunders and of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Settle. Mr. Saunders recently returned to the home of his daughter Mrs. Settle from Culpeper Memorial Hospital.

Oscar Cave, who has spent three weeks hospitalized at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, returned to his home Friday.
