Carnival Wednesday
The carnival season in Rappahannock County will be ushered in next week when the Washington Fire Company and Rappahannock Rescue Squad open the annual benefit carnival Wednesday, June 16. The festivities will continue through Saturday, June 19, and will be climaxed witfy the awarding of the grand prize, a 1971 Ford pickup. Other activities planned during the four-night carnival include a great parade scheduled for Thursday night with marching units, floats, majorettes, fire and rescue units and numerous other entries. A queen selected from contestants participating will be : crowned during a ceremony 1 Friday night. Each evening there ] will be rides on the midway, 1 games, food, fun and excitement. The entertainment is planned to suit every one of every age. See you there.
