A large barn at AminriUe on the farm of the late Mrs. A. C. Latham was struck by lightning Monday afternoon and destroyed by fire. A severe storm lashed the area, dumping an inch and a half of rain in a short time. Two Angus cattle were killed by lightning on J. R. Latham’s Horner Hill Farm near Ben Venue also. A crumpled heap of tin is almost the only visible portion of the barn which was still smoldering Tuesday afternoon. The bam contained about 200 bales of hay in addition to two loads of hay which was put in it that afternoon.
