Sometime in the next few months T V. viewers of the panel program “To Tell the Truth’’ on NBC stations, appearing locally on WTTG 5, will hear three ladies state “My name is Dorothy Davis,” but only one is the true j Mayor Davis of Washington, Va. I Mayor Davis was in New York Monday to tape the show which will be shown at a later date. She will be notified of the showing date two weeks in advance and local viewers will be duly alerted.
Her statement which was prepared by the programmers I and agreed to by her was read by | Host Gary Moore as follows: I, I Dorothy Davis, am the Mayor of my town. I became Mayor long before Women’s Liberation began to make headlines. Some 21 years ago, the town government wasn’t doing a very good job. In fact, a local Judge said even the women could run it better. The ladies thought that was a good idea, our all-female slate ran against the male incumbents, and ever since that time we have elected a woman Mayor and an all-woman town council.
